My Summer Intership with Blue Chip Talent

Hi, my name is Kathleen Foley,

I am a marketing and business student at the University of Alabama. This summer, I took a position as a Marketing & Human Resources Intern at Blue Chip Talent which is a woman-owned Talent Acquisition company. Over this summer I have learned so much about this staffing company and the limitless possibilities it holds. Blue Chip Talent is a one-of-a-kind place, a place to call home for many. From trivia night to their very own company Olympics, they work together, and stay together!

Prior to starting this internship, I knew close to nothing of how to be an intern. To be honest, I was scared. However, after a week at Blue Chip Talent, I felt so welcomed and comfortable and noticed the environment here is like a big family. When I first started, I noticed something completely different about this company than most. The relationships everyone has with each other are remarkable. I am so grateful for Blue Chip Talent’s CEO, Nicole Pawzcuk, who inspired me to join the Blue Chip Talent team for the summer and putting her trust in me to get some work done. Not only has she allowed me to get a glimpse of the success she has built, but in how she encourages everyone to be better versions of themselves every day. I am also very thankful to have worked alongside Suzanne Tosto, the company’s Director of Marketing. She has taught me how to market almost anything, and especially, to always look on the bright side of things and not take myself so seriously in the business world. I would also like to thank Heather Skinner, Sr. Corporate Recruiter, for teaching me about recruiting and giving me the opportunity to recruit for the company. I have learned a lot through her and am happy I have been able to help in her quest for candidates. This company is filled with incredible women such as these and many more people. It truly is one of a kind and I am so thankful for everyone showing me the ropes!

During my internship, I used my marketing skills to assist with design & execution of social media campaigns, created detailed weekly & monthly content calendars to increase brand awareness while supporting the current marketing team with client and candidate engagement events. As for my Human Resources role, I helped develop employment engagement strategies, while sourcing candidates for corporate employees to help sustain 100% growth.

I wish my time at Blue Chip Talent didn’t have to come to an end, but I will always remember what I have learned and hope to apply it in my upcoming marketing & business courses and future jobs. I came into this internship knowing just the basics and little on how to succeed, but I will be leaving with so much more knowledge and understanding of the business world thanks to this company. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to be part of the Blue Chip Talent Team for the summer and I hope to be back soon!

Roll Tide!
